In 1986, Steve went through extensive sewing machine repair training through John Supan and Associates in Chicago, Illinois. Steve worked as an independent contractor through Supan and Associates in Memphis, Tennessee for six years, working through Hancock Fabrics as a mobile repair service, repairing all brands of machines.
After fine-tuning his skills, Steve took a new Hancock district in 1990 in the Denver area with 12 stores. In 2000, he began his own company, Mr. Repair, Inc.
Between the fall of 2008 and ending May 31st, 2011, Steve ran his mobile business on scheduled days at 10 metro Denver JoAnn Fabrics locations, where he also set up his service at Colorado Fabrics (formerly Denver Fabrics) in Littleton every Wednesday.
Steve currently is servicing his customers from Colorado Fabrics (located in Aurora, Colorado) every Tuesday – Thursday of the month.

Beginning June 24, 2019, Steve has a pick-up and drop-off location at the Knife Guys, Inc., located in Denver. Steve picks up sewing machines and scissors every Monday at 11:00am, and returns them the following Monday at 11:00am.

Steve is a Certified Necchi Technician. In February, 2016, Steve received his certification as a Necchi Technician. He attended and completed one-on-one training at Janome Headquarters in Mahwah, New Jersey. Currently, Colorado Fabrics is a Necchi Dealership, and Steve will handle all warranty issues, along with outside Necchi warranty issues and repairs.
In 2007, Mr. Repair, Inc. became a vendor for all Metro County School Districts, working with Middle School and High Schools, servicing machines for the Consumer and Family Studies program
